Bringing state of the art cancer care to the Gulf South.

Insight

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center was working to become the destination cancer center for the Gulf South by finding cancer early, treating it and beating it. They came to us with a task of helping concept and launch a 5-year Major Gift Initiative to raise $25M. With goals in place, our team began to lay out the plans to define messaging, grow the donor base and join our community’s fight against cancer.

Idea

Adding to its existing tagline, “Invest in Courage,” we partnered with the Cancer Center to develop and brand the Take the Fight Forward initiative. Our first task included developing an emotionally-moving video thanking major donors at the Cancer Center’s annual Rathbone Dinner and designing the event’s presentation and invitation. We developed the initiative’s Case Statement – a multi-page comprehensive brochure designed to feature Take the Fight Forward, its goals and a call to action. We then created a Take the Fight Forward microsite, brand collateral to target their various markets and a thriving social presence to further grow their donor base and increase online donations.

Impact

MESH and the advancement team exceeded the 25 million dollar goal two years earlier than forecasted.
